Former R-Line Wye at Raymond
Title:  Former R-Line Wye at Raymond
Description:  This is the location of the former wye of the Central of Georgias R-Line, which ran from Columbus to Raymond. The outline of the wye, which interchanged with the Centrals C-Line (now Norfolk Southern, to the left in the photo), can still be seen clearly by the outline of the trees. The Centrals famous Man O War passenger train, which ran a Columbus to Atlanta route via the R-Line, C-Line and then trackage rights north over the Atlanta & West Point (now CSX) out of Newnan, ran through here from 1947 to 1970. The wye and the northernmost 17 miles of the R-Line south to Allie (Greenville) were abandoned and removed in 1981. The line has since been abandoned from Allie to Fortson.
